Fruitful Formula To Mathematics Education

Every educator in a teaching environment is bound to encounter a student or two who hates math. Reasons stem from its complexities with numbers and squiggles that give birth into formulas running across blackboards and often not fitting the allocated space. Some dread the need to commit these monstrosities to memory whereas others have no inkling on where or how to apply them to problems splashed across their work books.

To deliver effective mathematics education without causing his charges to run down the halls and scream in terror, a teacher needs to employ creative methods of teaching. Otherwise, learning processes imposed by archaic educational policies become a means to an end of completing the education cycle. Since the ability to learn evolves through the various age levels, the skill and know-how to deliver this task needs to be tailored to achieve maximum penetration. Younger students may benefit from visual representations to solve the mystery on the number of apples in Suzy’s safekeeping after a shopping trip to the store.

Adding to the ante is the infamous challenge to work out train arrival times based on given speeds and distances. By applying a range of techniques to solve the same problem, students learn the ability to look at it from various angles yet reaching similar goals. This then expands the mind to think out routes to solve life’s puzzles as part of their developmental growth.

Other than teaching the subject, professionals trained in mathematics education also gather statistics for the purpose of continual assessment. By observing how the teaching and comprehension of the subject matures through the generations, the importance of math in life becomes more apparent. Qualification in this expertise also allows the educator to branch into other career options. Research and spearheading educational policies are possible areas of advancement. Others may opt for a doctorate degree to instruct other educators at a tertiary level.

5 Tips For Women Returning to School

Tip 1: Develop a mind-set to complete your goal.Before you even get started you need to focus on not only going back to school, but also completing school. Make up your mind that in spite of anything you face you are going to be dedicated to obtain your certificate or degree! Your mind can definitely be a battleground when you are returning to school, it will tell you all of the reasons that this choice won’t work, and this leads to self-sabotage. It can work and you can do it! To many times we focus on the reasons that returning to school can’t be done, instead of the reasons that it can be done. So decide right now to develop a mind-set to succeed as you embark upon your dream of pursuing your education.Tip 2: Don’t look at the big picture, but take it day by day.Instead of looking months or years down the road, take it day by day. Take smaller steps toward the dream, and that will lead to the big dream! Focus on one class at a time, one day at a time, and before you know it you will be strutting across the stage in your cap and gown graduating!

Tip 3: Delegate your responsibilities.Before and during school, make sure that you delegate responsibilities to others in your family. Get a “Help mom make it” list together for your mate and children, and have everyone commit to doing something extra around the help to assist in your success. If you don’t have anyone at home, then maybe you can have a friend or someone else step in and help you do small chores and errands. Even if it is perceived to be something small that you delegate, the less you have to do the better. Many times as women we develop the “Superwoman Syndrome” and we feel like we have to do it all, and that is absolutely not true! If you stop to think about it, we have done so much for others that it is our time to help someone help us. Never think that you are being an inconvenience by asking someone to step in and assist you, because those who love you are excited to help you be the best woman that you can be, and that means supporting your dreams and goals!Tip 4: Visualize yourself reaching your goal:Whether you have already returned to school or you are in the process of enrolling. It is imperative to always visualize yourself being successful. Visualize yourself doing well in class, and getting good grades. Visualize yourself completing your program. Visualize seeing your name on that certificate or degree. What you see in your mind, is what you are drawn toward, so always see positive things in your mind and not negative things. This is where the dream board comes in handy. Make a visual board and put a picture of you on it, with a cap and gown on (you can make this on the internet, or using cut outs). Put pictures of the house or car you want to buy after you graduate on it, anything visual related to your goal of completing school should go on your dream board. Write down the reasons that you are going back to school, and the outcomes of your graduating (better job, fulfillment, increase in pay, etc.) Keep a visual list in your purse or wallet and pull it out every day to keep you motivated!

Tip 5: Refuse to Quit!Returning to school may not be easy, but it is worth it. It is hard trying to raise a family, work, and all of the other things that we do as women, and go to school at the same time. But no matter how difficult it gets don’t quit! Write a contract promising yourself that no matter what comes your way while you are in school you will not give up, sign and date it. Include why you are returning to school, and what your dreams are after you obtain your certificate or degree, also include other things that were challenging in your life, and how you felt once you mastered them. If you just keep pushing through every obstacle you will birth that dream of completing school before you know it!NOW LADIES GO FOR THAT CERTIFICATE OR DEGREE AS IT YOUR LIFE DEPENDED ON IT!

The Energy Healing Power of Natural Medicine

Natural medicine is a system that uses a variety of therapeutic or preventive health care practices such as homeopathy, naturopathy, chiropractic, and herbal medicine. Alternative medicine is also known as traditional, naturopathic, natural or holistic medicine. Proponents of alternative medicine are not refuting the validity of discoveries in and the practical uses of conventional medicine, but are merely trying to put some things into perspective. Due to the widespread interest in natural medicine along with the disappointment and disenchantment with Western medicine, many people, especially in the United States and Europe, where conventional medicine has taken a dominant foothold, are seeking the advice and treatment from naturopathic physicians. These practitioners include herbalists, acupuncturists, naturopaths, chiropractors, and others, who advocate preventative health measures as well as recommend wholesome foods and nutritional supplements for their patients and clients. Considering the growing popularity and effectiveness of alternative health treatments and products, certified and licensed professional practitioners of such medical practices should be given their rightful and respectful place in medical society. Natural medicine has been proven not only to be safe, but more effective than Western medicine in treating many chronic illnesses such as diabetes, hypertension, asthma and many other diseases as well

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});
The history of Natural Medicine and its roots can be traced back thousands of years to ancient cultures such as India and China. Ayurvedic (E. Indian) and Chinese medicine, along with their diagnostic and herbal systems, are still used in these countries extensively, as well as in the United States, especially in Europe, where alternative medicine is well respected. Chinese herbal medicine has a documented history of over 2500 years in China, and is now widely used by practitioners all over the world. It has been legally practiced in the United States. since the mid seventies by licensed acupuncturists. Homeopathy is also a well-known form of alternative medicine discovered in the 18th century by German physician Samuel Hahnemann, but was practically stamped out in the U.S. in the late nineteenth century by the American Medical Association. In 1938, though, the U.S. Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act finally recognized homeopathic pharmacopoeia as the legal equivalent of allopathic medicine.Another more contemporary and popular form of herbal medicine, called Western herbalism, can be traced back about two hundred years in America. Samuel Thomson, born in 1769, is considered the father of Western herbalism. He discovered over sixty different medically effective native plants by clinical testing, and on the basis of these findings, devised a theory of disease and botanical drug action. Randy Kidu, D.V.M., Ph.D., writes in his articled entitled A Brief History of Alternative Medicine: “The history of herbal medicine is interesting because herbs have been a part of our diet and pharmacy since man began roaming the earth. Coprophytic evidence (seeds and other plant part(found in preserved fecal pellets) points to herbal use by cavemen. Early herbalists practiced their trade since before recorded history in all parts of the world including China, Egypt, Greece, Rome, Africa, England, the Americas, and Europe. Many herbs are also mentioned in the Bible. Today, based on sheer numbers of folks who use one form of herbal medicine or another, it remains the most-used medicine worldwide.”Twenty-five hundred years after the advent of allopathic medicine, modern medicine is still grappling with the idea that herbal medicine could be an effective treatment, and not just quackery, although thousands of years of recorded history has proved its efficacy. A new model of understanding in medicine needs to be incorporated into the existing allopathic model. Because of the growing popularity and effectiveness of natural medicine, practitioners may eventually be given their deserved place in medical society. The incorporation of natural medical practices into the existing model of conventional Western medicine, including the training of new medical doctors, is now called Complimentary Medicine. In order to solve our health problems, this modern paradigm for treatment in medicine must be promoted. This can only truly emerge when bias, self-interest, greed and discrimination is discarded and diverse medical knowledge is promoted and shared, not only between university trained scientists and medical doctors, but among Alternative Medicine practitioners, philosophers, metaphysicians, and other intelligentsia of society as well.
